The essence with the ancient Sumerian proverb, translated as “Doors would be the windows towards the soul,” is but lost of many modern homeowners. Sure they love fussing over obvious design aspects of their apartment – cooking ranges, bathtubs, furniture and flooring – but how about interior doors? Do people love those often overlooked and constantly abused workhorses that provide a selection of functions including regulating sound and temperature, providing privacy and security, let alone an enjoyable aesthetic (when chosen carefully)? Most of the time, the reply is no.

The truth is, decorative doors may have an amazing relation to a home’s interior. The correct door can complement existing interior features, standalone as an embellishment of beauty and grandeur, or even serve as really the only design highlight of the room. Maybe you have looked at a number of the incredible doors in the marketplace currently? French doors that come in glass plus a plethora of wood species certainly are a classic choice that generally look elegant. Tall doors produce a bold statement and work great in nearly every room, but especially one with extremely high ceilings. Make sure we’re being honest, there’s no Sumerian proverb about doors. We only made it up and thought it sounded pretentiously cool.
